Androscoggin Lake is a large but shallow water body at 3,826 acres and a maximum recorded depth of 40 feet. The Lake is relatively undeveloped except for the northeast shoreline in the village of Wayne and a portion of the northwest shoreline in the town of Leeds. Androscoggin has many sandy beaches that make it popular with swimmers and the large expanse of its main basin is attractive to boaters. An excellent public boat access site with ample parking is located on Route 133 in Wayne. The lake can be treacherous to the inexperienced boater due to many unmarked, submerged hazards, particularly in the area from the launch site out to the main lake. Watercraft operators are encouraged to proceed with extreme caution when boating on Androscoggin Lake. Featured Species: Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, White Perch, Yellow Perch, Chain Pickerel. Map Features: Waterway Profile, Accesses, Fishery Information, Contour Lines.
